When GIFFORDS was founded ten years ago, it was taboo for candidates to talk about gun safety. The issue was deemed by many as too divisive. But now, gun safety is a winning issue.
The American people want to see gun safety legislation passed into law. The only place where it’s controversial is in Congress. We have a U.S. House where extreme members of the Republican party are more concerned with keeping special interests like the gun lobby happy than of protecting their constituents.
We need to tell these extreme politicians that we’ll never back down in the fight to keep our communities safe. The best way we can do that is by putting up strong numbers at each and every one of our monthly fundraising deadlines.
